I’ve become used to switching between virtual desktops and windows on a computer desktop freely and quickly based on Vi’s movement keys: + hjkl. I want use the outer keys to switch desktops configured in a ribbon and the inner keys to switch windows. As an aside, I’ve found a grid arrangement for desktops a very effective way to cluster related tasks together without crowding a given desktop; however it isn’t always easy to find a good set of modifiers which this works well for. I also want to be able to toggle between user managed window sizing and maximised window. Simple Windows style grid management, triggered by dragging to the side, to use 50% horizontally is also useful for applications best driven by drag and drop.

Furthermore, MDM commands are sent to a client without the expectation of any feedback, other than that the command was received. The installation may fail and the MDM will not care. Some management solutions close the loop by reporting installed applications back through a custom agent and can take action on that data.
